Sign up for Payroll Direct Deposit

What is Direct DeposiT?

Direct Deposit allows your pay to be deposited into your bank account directly from the University’s bank early on payday morning, rather than receiving pay through a paper paycheck.

Advantages of Direct Deposit

Here are a few of the advantages of using Direct Deposit:

  • Your earnings statement (pay stub) is available online three days prior to payday, and is viewable by computer browsers and most smartphones
  • Delays due to lost or misrouted paper checks are eliminated
  • Better for the environment as paper for checks and envelopes is not used
  • Saves a trip to the bank or ATM

In addition, signing up for Direct Deposit by Tuesday, 12/6/16, will avoid delivery delays for your 12/28/2016 paycheck (for biweekly paid employees.) Biweekly employees receiving paper paychecks will receive a letter about the 12/28/2016 paycheck beginning with the October 19th and continuing through the November 30th paycheck envelopes. Links to the letter can be found at the bottom of this page.

How to Sign Up for Direct Deposit

Signing up for Direct Deposit is done through the UC At Your Service Online (AYSO) system. All University employees have access to AYSO. Click on the tab below that matches your AYSO status, and follow the instructions to sign up today!

Great! You’ll need the account number for the bank account you want your pay deposited to, as well as the Bank Routing number for that bank. You can find this information at the bottom of one of your bank’s checks. If you don’t have a checking account, or if you do not have checks, you can get this information from your bank’s online banking site, or by calling your bank’s customer service number.

  1. Follow this link to AYSO, and login with your AYSO username and password: https://atyourserviceonline.ucop.edu/ayso/

  2. On the main AYSO menu, choose Direct Deposit from the Income & Taxes menu in the upper right of the screen.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts and instructions to choose Direct Deposit and enter your bank account information.

  4. When you have finished entering your info, AYSO will display a Review screen to allow you to double-check your entries. Be sure to click the CONFIRM button after you review to save your data.

  5. It can take 2-3 weeks for Direct Deposit to take effect after enrolling, so you will continue to receive paper paychecks in the interim. You can always log back into AYSO to check the status; you will see a “Pending” message on the Direct Deposit screen while the changes are being processed.

If you have any trouble or questions with Direct Deposit signup, please contact the UCSC Payroll Office at 459-2488 or email payhelp@ucsc.edu. A Payroll representative will help you complete the process.

Important Notice

Re: Your 12/28/16 Paycheck

Dear UCSC employee,

The 12/28/16 paydate occurs during the winter campus closure period (12/23/16 – 1/2/17) when there is no campus mail service and most departments are closed. This notice contains important information about receiving your 12/28/16 paycheck.

Enrolling in payroll direct deposit through “UC At Your Service Online” is the best way to avoid delays in receiving your pay. Enroll by Tuesday, 12/6/16, to ensure your payroll payment is deposited in your bank account on Wednesday (12/28/16) morning.

Step-by-step instructions for enrolling can be found here:
https://financial.ucsc.edu/Pages/Payroll_Direct_Deposit.aspx

If you have any questions or issues setting up Direct Deposit, or logging into At Your Service, please contact the Payroll Office at 459-4204 or email payhelp@ucsc.edu. Payroll Office staff can answer questions and set up an appointment if needed to help you through the process.

Direct Deposit is the most secure method to receive payment and offers several advantages:

  • Payment is deposited to your bank account on payday morning – no need to go to a bank
  • Earnings statements (pay stubs) can be viewed online (and on most smartphones) three days before payday
  • Promotes sustainability by eliminating paper paychecks and envelopes thus reducing paper use

If you cannot enroll in Direct Deposit, you can pick up your 12/28/16 paycheck at the Payroll Office, located at 2300 Delaware Avenue, from 9am - 11am on Wednesday, 12/28/16. You must present a valid picture ID to get your paycheck. Paychecks not picked up on 12/28/16 will be delivered to your campus unit on Wednesday, 1/4/17. Checks will not be available for pick-up on 1/3/17 because they will be in transit to Mail Services for delivery processing.

Aviso Importante

https://financial.ucsc.edu/Pages/Payroll_Direct_Deposit.aspx
